A leading healthcare provider in the UK is seeking a full-time Specialist Grade Doctor for the Breast Surgery Department. The successful candidate will focus on achieving key diagnostic standards and play an active role in clinical initiatives. Qualifications include GMC registration and expertise in managing breast patients. The position is based at Charing Cross Hospital with no on-call commitment and offers benefits such as flexible working and career development.
The Breast Surgery Department is looking to appoint a full-time (10 PA) Specialist Grade Doctor on a locum (12 month) contract, to start in the late summer of 2025. The post will be based at Charing Cross Hospital with some activity at St Mary’s Hospital. The post-holder will play a key role in ensuring the department achieves the 28-day Faster Diagnostic Standard and the 62-day treatment target for patients referred with suspected cancer. The post-holder will also be involved in running a sector-wide initiative for patients presenting with breast pain only and will have involvement in Family History clinics. There is no on-call commitment with this post.

The breast surgery department sees approximately 21,000 outpatients and undertakes 900 surgical procedures a year. The department provides a broad range of services including daily rapid diagnostic clinics, a comprehensive surgical service with the full range of reconstructive options, and a well-established family history clinic.
