Job summary

A leading NHS Foundation Trust in Tooting is seeking a Locum Consultant in Haematology. The role involves providing expert care in non-malignant haematology and supporting a comprehensive haemoglobinopathy service. The successful candidate will be responsible for inpatient consultations, engage in clinical governance, and contribute to the teaching program for medical students. Qualifications

  • Full and specialist registration with the GMC, or be eligible within six months.
  • UK-trained applicants must hold a Certificate of Completion of Training (CCT).
  • Non-UK trained applicants need to show evidence of equivalence to the UK CCT.
  • 6 months experience working in a haemoglobinopathies centre required.

Responsibilities

  • Provide inpatient care for non-malignant patients.
  • Develop and maintain high standards of clinical and laboratory haematology.
  • Engage in clinical governance and service improvement initiatives.

Skills

Experience in diagnostic and clinical haematology
Ability to take full and independent responsibility for clinical care
Experience of clinical audit
Leadership and decision-making skills

Education

FRCPath or equivalent
MRCP (or equivalent)
