Live‑Out Head Housekeeper – Private Residence, Kensington, London

A wonderful client is seeking an experienced and highly skilled Live‑Out Head Housekeeper to manage the day‑to‑day cleanliness, organisation and upkeep of a newly refurbished private residence in Kensington London.

The role also oversees a nearby guest property, ensuring it remains in pristine condition and is always ready for guests.

This is a hands‑on role with elements of household management requiring someone who is proactive, discreet and capable of working independently. The ideal candidate will be meticulous, detail‑oriented and comfortable liaising with family members, guests and external service providers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Maintain the home to an exceptional standard ensuring all rooms, surfaces and furnishings are impeccably cleaned and organised.
  • Provide specialist care for delicate fabrics, designer clothing and accessories including washing, ironing and seasonal wardrobe organisation.
  • Handle luxury materials such as marble, brass, glass and specialist woods using the correct cleaning techniques to avoid damage.
  • Manage the upkeep of a nearby guest property ensuring it is always pristine and guest‑ready.
  • Maintain stock levels of cleaning products and household essentials and assist with grocery shopping as needed.
  • Oversee tradespeople, external cleaners and maintenance contractors ensuring work is completed to the highest standard.
  • Assist with travel packing and unpacking, support small household events and ensure guests are well looked after during their stays.
Candidate Requirements
  • A minimum of 10 years experience in a similar role within a private household.
  • Extensive knowledge of luxury household care including specialist laundry techniques and cleaning high‑end materials.
  • Highly organised, proactive and meticulous in housekeeping and household management.
  • Discreet and professional with the ability to work independently while ensuring smooth household operations.
  • Strong communication and time management skills comfortable liaising with family, guests and external service providers.
  • Willingness to travel on occasion if needed.

This is a full‑time role working Monday to Friday from 9am – 6pm. Salary £50k p.a. depending on experience. Role to commence in January 2026.
