Job summary

A busy vehicle maintenance workshop in Trafford is seeking an apprentice mechanic to join their team. The successful candidate will work toward a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance. Responsibilities will include learning to service vehicles, assisting technicians, and maintaining a clean workshop. Ideal candidates should have a keen interest in the automotive trade and knowledge of vehicle maintenance. This role provides full training and support to help achieve apprenticeship goals and offers potential advancement into an MOT Tester position.

Qualifications

• Ideally grades C (or 4) and above in GCSE Maths and English but not essential.

Responsibilities

• Keeping the workshop clean & tidy.
• Learning how to use tools & equipment used in Vehicle Maintenance & repair.
• Assisting technicians with their work while receiving on-the-job training.
• Learning how to service a vehicle and replace components.
• Learning fault diagnosis and repairs on Engine, Chassis, Transmission, and Electrical systems.

About this opportunity

A fantastic opportunity has arisen with KDM need an apprentice mechanic to join their team in their busy workshop in Altrincham. The right person will work towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Motor Vehicle Service and Maintenance.

A normal day would include :

• Keeping the workshop clean & tidy
• You will be taught how to use tools & equipment used in Vehicle Maintenance & repair
• You will learn safe working procedures in the workshop
• You will assist other technicians with their work whilst receiving on the job training
• You will learn how to service a vehicle and safely remove and replace Engine, Chassis, Electrical and Transmission components
• You will go on to learn Simple and Complex Fault Diagnosis and Repairs on Engine, Chassis, Transmission and Electrical systems

What you could go on to do

You could go on to progress to become an MOT Tester with the company after completing the apprenticeship.
