A law enforcement agency in the UK is seeking a committed individual to fill a permanent Legal Executive position. The role involves processing Domestic Violence Protection Orders and advocating in Magistrates’ Court. Ideal candidates should hold an equivalent legal qualification with experience in advocacy, possess knowledge of police procedures, and have strong case management skills. The salary ranges from £41,856 to £47,505, with full-time hours Monday to Friday. The role also requires court attendance on a rota basis.
An exciting opportunity has arisen within the Legal Services Department for a permanent position as a Legal Executive in the Legal Services Department at Kent Police Headquarters, Sutton Road, Maidstone. The post holder will be responsible, amongst other work, for the processing and presentation of applications for Domestic Violence Protection Orders (“DVPO”). The objective of DVPO’s is to enhance the protection of victims and allow better management of perpetrators.
There is a need for a qualified Legal Executive, or an equivalent legal qualification, who will be required to act as an advocate in the Magistrates’ Court, on behalf of the Chief Constable of Kent Police, to seek such DVPO’s.
In addition, the post holder will be required to manage a personal case load which includes other areas of work such as licensing, civil injunctions, crime enquiries and other civil orders that the Legal Services Department process.
You should be a Legal Executive or have an equivalent legal qualification and preferably have advocacy experience in the Magistrates’ Court.
A knowledge of police policies and procedures would be beneficial.
The post will require attendance at Court on a Saturday and will therefore be subject to a rota arrangement.
Your own transport and a valid driving license are essential to this role.

Kent Police offer incremental increases within this salary band, therefore the salary for this position will rise to a maximum of £47,505.00.
