Overview

We are recruiting for a Legal Counsel at McLaren Automotive Limited, you will be an integral part of a dynamic and full-service Legal team that sits at the heart of the business. This role offers a unique opportunity to engage directly with stakeholders across all business functions, ensuring that you are involved in a wide range of legal matters that span the globe. You will experience a rich variety of work, from providing legal support for cutting-edge, exclusive products to collaborating with industry leaders. The position offers a large degree of autonomy, while also providing all the support necessary to grow and develop your career within a world‑renowned brand and automotive company. This role will operate in a hybrid capacity and we are open to both full‑time and part‑time applicants, out of our offices either in Leamington Spa or Bicester.

Responsibilities

• Review, draft, and negotiate a wide range of commercial contracts, including supplier agreements, service contracts, licensing arrangements, partnership agreements.
• Provide pragmatic legal advice to internal stakeholders across various business functions, balancing legal risk with commercial objectives.
• Support the legal team in managing legal risk and ensuring compliance with relevant laws and regulations.
• Monitor legal and regulatory developments relevant to the business and proactively advise on potential impact and mitigation strategies.
• Assist with contract lifecycle management and process improvements.
• Contribute to internal training and knowledge‑sharing initiatives.
• Liaise with external counsel as required.

Qualifications

• Broad amount of experience (1‑4 years PQE), ideally gained in‑house or at a reputable law firm.
• Strong grounding in commercial contract law and negotiation.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proactive and solutions‑oriented, with a commercial mindset.
• Comfortable working independently and collaboratively in a fast‑paced environment.
• Ability to build strong relationships and act as a trusted business partner.
