We are working with a reputable and thriving professional services firm to recruit an experienced Legalier a permanent basis. This is an excellent opportunity for someone seeking a varied role within a busy, supportive finance team.

The Role

You will play a key role in managing office and client account transactions, ensuring accuracy and full compliance with the Solicitors Accounts Rules. Key responsibilities include:

  • Processing inbound payments for office and client accounts
  • Posting transactions to client ledgers using the practice management system
  • Issuing bills, cheques and processing BACS payments
  • Bank reconciliations, VAT returns, bookkeeping and month-end reporting
  • Managing payment exceptions and liaising with finance and legal teams
  • Maintaining accurate electronic filing of transactional documentation
  • Managing the Cashiers team mailbox and supporting wider finance duties
  • Applying delegated discretion in line with firm procedures and regulatory requirements
Skills & Experience
  • Proven experience in a legal cashier or legal account s role
  • Strong knowledge of Solicitors Accounts Rules (SAR)
  • Experience with legal accounting and electronic banking systems
  • IT literate with good MS Excel and MS Word skills
  • Excellent attention to detail and accuracy
