Legal Assistant (Immigration) Horsham, West Sussex Full Time, Office-Based £28,000 £30,000 per annum

Looking to launch your legal career in immigration law with a firm that genuinely invests in its people?

Our client is a long-established and highly reputable immigration firm based in West Sussex, conveniently located close to Horsham Station with direct rail links to Croydon and London.

They are a small, busy practice with several hundred corporate clients of varying sizes and a large number of individual clients, most of whom they have worked with for many years.

They are now seeking a Legal Assistant to join their Immigration team, an excellent opportunity for a graduate to kick start their legal career, gain hands on experience in immigration law, and achieve Level 1 IAA accreditation within their first year.

What will your role look like?

As a junior team member working under direct supervision, you will provide both fee-earning and administrative support to the Immigration team, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard. Responsibilities will include:

  • Assisting with day-to-day case handling
  • Liaising with clients professionally to progress immigration matters
  • Monitoring key dates and deadlines (including visa expiry dates and submissions)
  • Proofreading documents for accuracy and Home Office compliance
  • Conducting legal research and keeping up to date with immigration law changes
  • Handling website enquiries and drafting responses
  • Drafting client care letters and invoices using the CRM and Practice Management system
  • Supporting billing, administration, and filing of completed casework
  • Assisting with maintaining templates, precedents, and internal guidance notes
  • Contributing to process improvements to enhance efficiency and client experience
  • Participating in LinkedIn and wider social media networking
