Are you an experienced administrator looking to take the next step in your legal career? We are seeking aLegal Administratorto join a well-established and busyCriminaldepartmentat a respected solicitors firm based in Nottingham city centre.

About the Role of Legal Administrator:

As a Legal Administrator, you will play a vital role in supporting the team and ensuring the smooth running of legal processes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing and processing Legal Aid applications, including amendments
  • Generating invoices upon completion of work
  • Managing diaries and scheduling hearings, court dates, and meetings
  • Drafting standard legal documents and correspondence
  • Communicating with clients, courts, and other professionals via phone, email, and in-person
  • Booking appointments and managing calendars
  • Opening and closing case files, and following up on missing documents
  • Organising case files for billing, ensuring all required documents are included
  • Taking accurate minutes during meetings

About You:

We’re looking for someone who is proactive, organised, and committed to delivering a high standard of administrative support. Ideally, you will have:

  • Previous experience in a legal secretarial or administrative role
  • Confidence working in a fast-paced office environment
  • Familiarity with Legal Aid billing systems (advantageous but not essential)
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel)
  • Excellent organisational and time-management skills
  • Strong communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to work full-time in the office
  • Previous experience in a legal setting is preferred, though full training will be provided
