Lecturer in Early Years (Higher Education)

The College is seeking applications for a Lecturer in Early Years (Higher Education) to be based in our Strand Road Campus. The post holder will provide quality teaching and learning opportunities within the specific areas outlined in the post in order to maximise the potential of every student and to undertake non-lecturing duties as appropriate. Responsibilities
  • Contribute to the development, organisation and delivery of the Early Years (Higher Education) curriculum across the College leading to the award of various qualifications relating to own specialism/s
  • Attend meetings on matters relating to students, course co-ordination, management, assessment and development
  • Participate in the marketing of and recruitment to courses within the subject/programme area
  • Act as a course manager/co-ordinator
  • Undertake assessor and verifier duties
Skills and Qualifications
  • Have a University Degree in the specialist area or equivalent qualification OR Level 5 qualification in the specialist area with years industrial, professional or teaching experience in a senior leadership and/or management role
  • Have GCSE English (Grade C or higher) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Communication, or any qualifications which are deemed to be equivalent
  • Have GCSE Maths (Grade C or higher) or Essential Skills Level 2 (or higher) in Numeracy, or NICATS Access Maths Modules, or any qualifications which are deemed to be equivalent
  • Have at least 2 years leadership and management experience within an Early Years setting
  • Have a Post Graduate Certificate in Education or equivalent qualification recognised for teaching in the Northern Ireland FE Sector OR Be currently registered with the General Teaching Council for Northern Ireland (GTCNI)
