Learning Support Assistant

We're looking for a committed and compassionate Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join a specialist SEN school in Devizes. This LSA role is ideal for someone who genuinely enjoys supporting children with additional needs and wants to make a meaningful impact every day.

The Role – Learning Support Assistant (LSA)

As a Learning Support Assistant, you'll work closely with pupils aged 11-16, helping them learn, communicate and feel confident. Your day as an LSA will involve:

  • Offering 1:1 LSA support and small-group assistance to help pupils stay focused and engaged.
  • Supporting children with a wide range of needs including ASD, sensory needs, PMLD, communication differences, physical difficulties and SEMH.
  • Creating a calm, supportive learning environment that helps each pupil progress at their own pace.
  • Assisting with personal care, feeding and mobility when required (training can be arranged).
  • Building strong, trusted relationships with pupils and staff members.
  • Working alongside teachers, therapists and fellow Learning Support Assistants to provide consistent, high-quality support.
  • Using visual resources, structured routines or communication tools when needed.
  • Every day as an LSA is different, and every day brings small but important wins.

  • Be patient, reliable and adaptable.
  • Have some experience supporting children or young people (formal or informal).
  • Be comfortable supporting pupils with additional or complex needs, including personal care.
  • Work well within a team and communicate clearly.
  • Preferably hold a DBS on the Update Service, or be willing to obtain one.
  • Be open to further LSA training and development.
Salary

£445 - £500 per week, dependent on experience.
