Leeds Supply Service is seeking a dedicated Learning Support Assistant to join a specialist college in LS9. The role involves providing in‑class and out‑of‑class support to students with High Needs and SEND, assisting with personal care, medical requirements, and mobility needs, and contributing to their learning and development.

Responsibilities
  • Provide in‑class and out‑of‑class support to students with High Needs and SEND, including personal care, medical requirements, and mobility needs.
  • Provide classroom and off‑site support for students with additional needs such as wheelchair users, hearing or visual impairments.
  • Assist with planning, preparation, and assessment as part of the course team.
  • Support emergency evacuation plans and practices.
  • Maintain accurate records of student progress and strategies used.
  • Attend annual reviews and student meetings to provide updates on progress and behaviour.
  • Help students develop independent travel skills and assist with transport arrangements.
  • Participate in evening/weekend work and examinations as required.
Qualifications
  • Educated to Level 2 in Literacy and Numeracy (or commitment to achieving this within one year).
  • Experience working with students with High Needs or SEND.
  • Strong awareness of disability, equality, and diversity issues.
  • Clear oral, written, and IT communication skills.

Desirable Criteria
