Role Overview

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Leakage Supervisor to oversee a team of Leakage technicians working on the Southern Water programme. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, ensuring the quality and accuracy of leakage activities, and supporting the delivery of project objectives. This is a hands‑on supervisory role that requires strong organisational, leadership, and communication skills, with a focus on health & safety and performance delivery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Team Supervision: Lead, manage, and support a team of Leakage Technicians, ensuring daily tasks and schedules are achieved.
  • Operational Oversight: Coordinate field activities including leakage, equipment use, and data collection, ensuring compliance with programme standards.
  • Quality Control: Monitor leakage activities, verify accuracy of results, and ensure timely reporting.
  • Health & Safety: Promote and enforce safe working practices in line with company and industry standards. Conduct toolbox talks and risk assessments as required.
  • Planning & Scheduling: Assist with workforce planning, scheduling, and allocation of resources to meet project deadlines.
  • Liaison & Communication: Act as the main point of contact between technicians, management, and clients (Southern Water), ensuring effective communication and issue resolution.
  • Training & Development: Provide guidance, mentoring, and training to technicians to enhance skills and maintain high performance levels.
  • Reporting: Maintain accurate records of field activities, produce progress updates, and escalate issues to management when necessary.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven experience in the water industry or a utilities-based field role.
  • Previous supervisory or team leader experience, ideally in a logging, leakage, or field operations environment.
  • Strong understanding of leakage processes, data collection, and reporting.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills.
  • Good organisational and problem‑solving abilities.
  • Knowledge of health & safety regulations and a strong commitment to compliance.
  • IT literacy, with the ability to use leakage equipment/software and reporting tools.
  • Full UK driving licence.
