Job description

We are seeking an experienced family and systemic psychotherapist to join our well-established and valued family therapy service within specialist CAMHS in Herefordshire and Worcestershire. The post holder would contribute to the provision of the evidence-based treatment of children with mental health difficulties by developing and supporting systemic thinking and practice within CAMHS. They would contribute to the work of core CAMHS and lead specialist family therapy clinics across the county. They would provide consultation and training to other professionals within CAMHS and supervision to newly qualified family therapists and those on introductory and intermediate training. There is much scope to develop innovative systemic approaches to improve outcomes for young people and families at all stages of the CAMHS journey.

The post holder would join a vibrant group of systemically trained professionals including four qualified and experienced family therapists and two AFT registered supervisors, a systemic therapist currently in training and 4 practitioners who are trained (or in training) to intermediate level. They would participate in all aspects of the systemic family therapy service including provision and receipt of training and supervision as appropriate to their level of experience. The service has strong links to both Birmingham and Exeter University training courses and has trained a growing number of staff through securing HEE funding.

The post holder would need to be fully qualified in systemic family therapy with some post qualification experience in an NHS setting working with families, holding registration with the UKCP via the Association of Family Therapy and Systemic Practice. A qualification in systemic supervision recognised by AFT would be desirable.
