Job summary

A leading construction company is seeking a Senior Quantity Surveyor to join the team on the TRUe project in Leeds. The successful candidate will lead commercial delivery, mentor junior staff, and drive value through effective cost management. Candidates must have a strong civil or rail background, relevant degree, and be working towards RICS/ICES chartership. The role requires excellent communication skills and a willingness to travel.

Qualifications

• Registered with RICS / ICES and working towards chartership.
• Ability to negotiate and persuade.

Responsibilities

• Lead commercial delivery on the Transpennine Route Upgrade.
• Mentor junior staff and foster a culture of commercial awareness.
• Drive value through cost management and change control.
• Engage with clients and stakeholders to shape outcomes.
• Prepare internal commercial reporting and valuations.

Skills

Strong civil and/or rail background

Excellent knowledge of Standard Forms of Contract (NEC)

Strong communication and presentation skills

Proven experience as a Senior Quantity Surveyor

Full driving licence

Education

BSc (Hons) Quantity Surveying (or equivalent)
