Job summary

A leading IT consultancy in the United Kingdom is seeking a Lead Observability Engineer for a remote role with occasional travel to London. The successful candidate will be crucial in defining monitoring and observability standards and choosing core tools. The position requires strong experience with modern logging platforms and collaboration with engineering teams. This is a five-month initial contract role, inside IR35, with potential extensions expected over a two-year project.

Job description

Our clint is looking for a couple of Lead Observability Engineers to join their team on a five month initial contract, with six monthly extension to follow on a excepted 2 year project. This role is remote with occasional travel to London. This role is Inside IR35.

What you’ll do

• Set the basic approach for logs, metrics, traces, dashboards, and alerts.
• Help choose and set up the core monitoring and observability tools.
• Create simple templates so new services have monitoring from day one.
• Make sure alerts are useful and go to the right people, aligned with enterprise-wide setups.
• Keep data safe (making sure no sensitive info is in logs).
• Help colleagues use the tools and improve what they already have.
