A leading aircraft seating manufacturer in Hingham, England is looking for a Lead Manufacturing Engineer. This role entails optimizing production processes, leading a team, and ensuring compliance with AS9100 standards. Ideal candidates will have a background in serial production line environments and experience with New Product Introduction. The position offers an opportunity to play a key role in the launch of new aircraft products.
Are you a strong manufacturing engineer with a background in a highly regulated and/or serial production line manufacturing environment? As a Lead Manufacturing Engineer, you will take ownership of the technical delivery of introducing new production lines and manufacturing processes across multiple programmes. You'll lead a team of engineers to develop, optimise, and sustain efficient, compliant, and cost-effective production methods for new and existing aircraft seating products.
This role is both strategic and hands-on — ideal for a technically strong engineer who can balance leadership, process ownership, and problem-solving in a fast-paced, regulated environment. You will be responsible for introducing and managing production lines, supporting new projects development, and continuous improvement of commercial aerospace products, in addition to manufacturing assembly processes. Supporting the launch of our products, you will be able to apply your expertise to optimize safety, performance, efficiency, yield, and processes using Lean Sigma.
Supporting multiple new product development (NPD) projects, you will lead DFM/A, PFMEA, production readiness reviews and the design and implementation of lean manufacturing cells to ensure production viability on launch.
