Job summary

Loungers’ Visto Lounge in Torquay is hiring a full-time Sous Chef to join our kitchen team. You’ll support the Head Chef, lead shifts and ensure every dish leaving the pass is of the highest standard.

We offer a competitive base salary with a bonus, paid overtime, and real progression opportunities within our growing casual dining group across England and Wales. A 40–48 hour contract is available, with perks from day one including meals on shift and staff discounts.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Sous Chef, Junior Sous Chef, or Chef de Partie ready for next step.
• Ability to lead kitchen shifts and maintain high standards under pressure.
• Strong focus on quality, pace, cleanliness and safety.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, keeping service smooth from prep to plate.
• Support the Head Chef and take ownership in their absence.
• Set high standards on the pass for quality, pace, hygiene and safety.
• Handle prep, par, stock, waste, orders and shift handovers.
• Coach and develop the team to deliver great food each shift.
