Job summary

Loungers Tretho Lounge is hiring a full-time Sous Chef to head up part of the kitchen team, supporting the Head Chef and delivering high-quality dishes across service. This is a hands-on role ideal for an experienced sous chef or junior sous chef seeking progression in a growing hospitality brand.

You'll lead shifts, uphold standards of food quality, hygiene and pace, and mentor your team. The role offers a 48-hour contract (40-hour option), overtime, bonus scheme, and staff benefits from day

Qualifications

• Experience in a Sous Chef role or senior line cook.
• Proven ability to lead kitchen shifts and maintain service quality.
• Commitment to high standards of hygiene and safety.
• Able to work flexible hours, including weekends.
• Passion for fresh ingredients and consistent plating.

Responsibilities

• Lead kitchen shifts with confidence, keeping service smooth, organised and on spec from prep through to the final plate
• Be the Head Chef's right hand - supporting day-to-day operations, stepping up in their absence, and helping the kitchen deliver consistently strong results
• Set the tone for high standards on the pass, with a sharp eye for food quality, pace, cleanliness, hygiene and safety
• Take ownership of key kitchen routines including prep and par, stock control, waste, orders and effective shift handovers
• Coach and support the team around you, helping new and existing chefs build confidence, grow their skills and deliver great food every shift
