Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Principal EIA Consultant to lead the delivery of Environmental Impact Assessments and Environmental Statements across a diverse UK portfolio. You will manage projects, coordinate multidisciplinary inputs and advise on environmental constraints, ensuring high-quality documentation and robust decision-making.

You will play a key role in shaping sustainable development, mentoring colleagues, and supporting business development while based at a UK office within a national hybrid

Qualifications

• Significant experience in EIA, environmental consultancy, environmental planning or a closely related discipline.
• Strong experience delivering and managing EIA projects, including preparation, coordination or review of Environmental Statements.
• Good understanding of UK environmental assessment legislation, planning policy, consenting processes and relevant guidance.
• Experience coordinating multidisciplinary environmental assessments and managing inputs from technical specialists.
• Identify environmental risks and opportunities, develop mitigation strategies and provide commercially aware advice.

Responsibilities

• Lead and contribute to delivery of EIAs, Environmental Statements and related documentation across sectors.
• Manage EIA projects and workstreams from early development through assessment, reporting, consultation and submission.
• Coordinate multidisciplinary inputs, ensuring environmental assessments are robust, proportionate and high quality.
• Advise clients on environmental constraints, mitigation measures and consenting requirements throughout the project lifecycle.
• Prepare, review and quality-assure EIA reports and supporting documentation.
• Provide technical guidance on UK legislation, planning policy and guidance to inform project decisions.

Degree in environmental science or related discipline
