Overview

We are looking someone who can lead coordination, communication, and capability-building efforts across our digital communities as a Lead Digital Practice Support Manager. Our Practice Support Managers champion digital culture and community in DWP. We help our Communities of Practice be at their best, most connected, skilled and engaged. From making sure our apprentices flourish, to arranging community events, building skills training to supporting recruitment and lots more, they have a crucial role in defining what it is like to work in DWP. Your role

As a Lead Digital Practice Support Manager at DWP Digital, you\'ll drive the development and delivery of strategic community engagement and capability-building plans within our Business Services Practice. You\'ll work closely with senior leaders, including Heads of Practice and Heads of Role, to coordinate recruitment, learning opportunities, and events that support over 1800 engineers. Your role involves leading a team, managing communications, and creating engaging content to strengthen community identity and collaboration. You\'ll also oversee the delivery of complex communication plans, resolve escalations, and implement performance metrics to improve practice maturity. By sharing best practices and building strong relationships across departments, you\'ll help shape a consistent and effective support framework for the wider digital community.

Responsibilities
  • Lead coordination, communication, and capability-building efforts across digital communities within the Business Services Practice.
  • Develop and deliver strategic community engagement and capability-building plans.
  • Coordinate recruitment, learning opportunities, and events for a large engineering community (over 1800 engineers).
  • Manage a team, communications, and content creation to strengthen community identity and collaboration.
  • Oversee delivery of complex communication plans, resolve escalations, and implement performance metrics.
  • Share best practices and build relationships across departments to shape a consistent support framework.
Qualifications / Experience
  • Experience introducing, promoting and encouraging new ideas that engage a large and diverse community (1000+ people) leading to measurable improvements in engagement.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with ability to set and embed standards for communication and editorial control for messaging and tone.
  • Experience identifying evaluation criteria to analyse communication effectiveness and presenting findings using data analysis and strong presentation skills.
  • Influential, with experience delivering large-scale events (virtual and in-person) that meet diverse needs and provide value for money.
  • Significant demonstrable experience of using different methods for communication with digital resources and monitoring effectiveness, taking action to improve where necessary.

  • Salary: £55,557. Pension contributions 28.97% (up to £16,094 per year).
