Job summary

A leading engineering company in Stockport is seeking a Control Systems Engineer to develop innovative control systems in collaboration with mechanical engineers. The ideal candidate will have proven experience in control systems design and testing, particularly for hydraulic machinery, and hands-on CAD experience. Excellent communication skills and a background in project management are essential. A competitive salary of £60,000-£70,000 plus benefits is offered.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in the design, testing and development of control systems.
  • Strong background in developing PLC control systems for hydraulically operated machinery.
  • Hands-on 3D CAD design experience and excellent IT skills.
  • Knowledge of Siemens TIA, Codesys and a 3D Electrical Design package.

Responsibilities

  • Develop innovative control system solutions in collaboration with engineers.
  • Check, review, and approve technical drawings and documentation.
  • Prepare detailed technical documents including specifications and reports.
  • Undertake the development, integration and testing of hydraulic hardware.
  • Compile and maintain technical documents and test specifications.
  • Interpret and apply complex technical specifications.
  • Liaise with suppliers and represent the company in meetings.
  • Provide engineering support to production and testing teams.
  • Assist the sales team with technical input for bids and proposals.
