Job summary

Lead Pharmacist – Clinical Trials Pharmacy Team

An exciting opportunity as a Lead Pharmacist has arisen for an enthusiastic and highly motivated individual to join the established clinical trials pharmacy team on a fixed term contract until March 2027 supporting clinical trials patients across Mid and South Essex.

Based primarily at Broomfield Hospital site, you will be an integral member of the multi‑disciplinary team, working to provide excellent care to clinical trial and oncology & haematology patients throughout the Trust. Cross‑site working will be required.

Key Responsibilities
  • To work under the direction of the Principal Pharmacist for Clinical Trials to ensure pharmacy are in a position to support the Research & Development Strategy.
  • To work with the clinical trials and oncology teams to enable streamlined set‑up of clinical trials across all specialities.
  • To clinically screen oncology and haematology prescriptions.
  • To clinically screen and check clinical trial prescriptions.
  • To ensure Medicines Management Standards are met within the Clinical trials and Oncology and Haematology Services.
  • To work in accordance with the principles of Good Clinical Practice.
  • To be actively involved in the clinical governance aspects of the pharmaceutical service.
