The role

Are you ready to lead the transformation of asset information systems in a business powering millions of UK homes and businesses? As Asset Systems Lead Analyst, you’ll drive innovation in how we manage, improve, and govern our asset data and systems—helping shape the future of a net zero energy network.

You will
  • Lead the management, development, and improvement of our asset information systems and the Common Network Asset Indices Methodology (CNAIM) framework.
  • Act as the key point of contact for system configuration, model calibration, and process flows - representing SSEN Distribution in industry groups and with Ofgem, the electricity network regulator.
  • Identify opportunities within our regulatory performance incentives (NARM, IIS) to meet or exceed our performance targets and maximise incentive return.
  • Drive delivery of system and process enhancements, leading multi-disciplinary teams and managing projects from business case to implementation.
  • Own and improve asset data governance, quality, and stewardship—ensuring our systems and data meet regulatory and business needs.
  • Mentor and develop junior analysts, standardising approaches and building expertise across the team.
You have
  • A degree (Bachelors / Masters / PhD) in a STEM subject and substantive experience in asset management or a regulated utility environment.
  • Deep knowledge of CNAIM and NARM frameworks, with practical experience populating, calibrating and managing the asset risk models.
  • Proven experience engaging with network regulators, managing regulatory period performance and a track record for maximising performance incentive returns.
  • Hands‑on experience in asset management systems (e.g., SAP, MAXIMO, ArcGIS) and data tools (Power BI, SQL, Python).
  • Proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements, and to deliver system improvements that drive efficiency and value.
  • Strong project management skills, with experience leading teams and engaging stakeholders at all levels—including regulators and industry peers and a collaborative, proactive approach, with a passion for data quality, innovation, and continuous improvement.
