Teaching is at the core of Oxford Royale’s Law Summer School programme

We are seeking an enthusiastic teacher to introduce students to foundational legal concepts, including constitutional law, criminal law, and international legal systems. The ideal candidate will inspire students to think critically about contemporary legal challenges and guide them through case studies, mock trials, and debates. Lessons should encourage active participation and the application of legal theory to real‑world contexts.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and adapt lessons using the Teacher’s Guide, ensuring the content is suited to students’ interests and academic levels.
  • Deliver engaging lessons covering key areas of law, including legal history, current legal issues, and the role of law in society.
  • Use subject expertise to promote student progress, providing personalized feedback and adapting lessons to meet individual learning needs.
  • Lead interactive activities such as debates, mock trials, and case study analysis to apply legal theory to practice.
  • Mark assignments, provide detailed feedback, and complete student reports reflecting individual progress.
  • Handle administrative tasks including maintaining registers and attending staff meetings.
  • Collaborate with fellow teaching staff to create an engaging and supportive learning environment.

Position Details
  • Programmes are two weeks in length, with options for 2‑ or 4‑week contracts available in July 2026.
  • Teaching takes place Monday to Friday, with lessons scheduled from 09:00 to 15:00.
  • Compulsory online and in‑person training will be required before starting the role.
  • While key teaching materials are provided, teachers are expected to adapt lesson plans to suit student interests and contribute their own expertise to the course.
Essential Qualifications
  • Undergraduate degree (or higher) in Law or a closely related field.
Desirable Qualifications / Experience
  • Experience teaching law or related subjects to students aged 12‑18.
  • PGCE or Master’s degree in Law or a related field.
  • Professional experience in the legal field or related sectors.
