  • Location: Wellingborough, Northamptonshire
  • Working Days: Full‑time with a fair 1 in 5 on‑call rota
  • Duties: Equine ambulatory caseload with complementary farm animal work, referrals for complex surgical colics, and unresolved lameness
About the Role
  • Our client is seeking a motivated Veterinary Surgeon to join a traditional independent mixed practice with an 80% equine and 20% farm split.
  • The role focuses on equine ambulatory work across a diverse client base, from pleasure horses to competition and stud yards, with farm duties supporting a small but valued base of dairy, beef, sheep, and smallholders.
  • The successful candidate will manage cases to their natural conclusions with supportive mentorship and collaboration. Experience is preferred, but applications from all levels will be considered.
  • The on‑call commitment is shared evenly on a 1 in 5 rota, integrated with generous time off after weekend duty.
  • The package includes a competitive salary, CPD allowance with support for development, holiday allowance, and a practice van.
  • There is no TB testing requirement. Candidates should be comfortable engaging with the local community and working alongside an experienced equine technician.
