Job summary

A global consulting firm in Newcastle upon Tyne is seeking a Financial Crime (CDD) Senior Risk Associate to join its Risk Management team on a 12-month fixed-term contract. The successful candidate will undertake quality control, provide coaching, and manage remediation workstreams within the CDD framework. Strong knowledge of compliance policies and excellent communication skills are essential, along with the ability to maintain confidentiality in a demanding environment. A background in quality control and ICA qualifications are advantageous.

Qualifications

  • Strong communication skills capable of dealing with a wide range of staff, including Partners.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high degree of confidentiality and credibility at all levels.
  • Maintains high levels of accuracy and attention to detail while adopting flexibility between tasks.

Responsibilities

  • Undertake QC on areas including BAU, Periodic Reviews, RTC, Special Projects.
  • Provide 121 coaching on reducing Outreach through a pragmatic approach.
  • Suggest and implement changes to QC policies and procedures.

L2 Role - Financial Crime (CDD) Senior Risk Associate (QC) - UK&I - Risk Management – 12m FTC – Newcastle
The Opportunity

The Quality Control (QC) Team supports the CDD Team in the execution of quality control framework to ensure adherence with UK&I regulations and compliance guidelines, in line with Global, Regional, and local risk management policies and procedures. The QC Team is also responsible for the development, maintenance, communication, and training of QC processes and policies to the Central CDD Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertaking QC on areas including BAU, Periodic Reviews, RTC, Special Projects and the Approval Rung
  • Providing 121 coaching on reducing Outreach through a risk based pragmatic approach and utilisation of additional resources
  • Thematic checks for process changes and SOP updates
  • Undertaking BAU when requested by Management
  • Delivery of timely feedback
  • Management of remediation workstream
  • Suggest and implement changes and improvements to the QC policies and procedures
Skills and attributes for success
  • Strong knowledge of CDD policies and process
  • Good communication skills capable of dealing with wide range of staff, including Partners.
  • Ability to establish and maintain a high degree of confidentiality and credibility at all levels
  • Strong team player and proven ability to work with others
  • Enthusiastic, positive, and resilient.
  • Ability to work well under pressure and to tight deadlines in a demanding environment.
  • Maintains high levels of accuracy and attention to detail while adopting flexibility between tasks
  • Knowledge of Channel Islands requirements would be an advantage
  • An ICA qualification would be an advantage
  • Previous QC experience would be an advantage

To be considered for this role you will need 12 months plus tenure and QC scores which are consistently on/above target.
