A leading educational institution in Hall Green seeks a KS1 Graduate Teaching Assistant to gain classroom experience and provide intervention support for Year 1 and Year 2 pupils. Qualifications

The Role

You\'ll work across KS1 to deliver short, purposeful interventions in phonics, early writing and number. You\'ll guide small groups, provide 1:1 support, set up activities, and keep concise notes on progress so next steps are clear. You\'ll reinforce routines, promote positive behaviour, and help create a calm, engaging classroom.

The Candidate

You\'re a graduate who communicates clearly, follows guidance well, and builds trust with young children. You\'re organised, patient, and keen to develop practical classroom skills ahead of initial teacher training.

Requirements
  • Degree — A 2:2 or above in any subject.
  • Communication — Clear and confident verbal and written communication.
  • Enhanced DBS — Must hold or be willing to obtain an Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Desire to work in education/with children — Strong interest in KS1 and pupil progress.
  • Experience working with children — Any relevant experience (tutoring, mentoring, volunteering) is desirable but not essential.
