Overview

Job Overview
We are seeking a dedicated and enthusiastic Kitchen Porter to join our small kitchen team. The ideal candidate will play a vital role in supporting the kitchen staff by ensuring that the kitchen environment is clean, organised, and efficient.

Hours

Hours of work are 11:00am to 4:00pm, 5 days per week which includes Saturdays. There is some flexibility on hours.

Responsibilities
  • Assist with food preparation tasks, including washing, peeling, and chopping ingredients as required.
  • Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen area, including washing dishes, pots, and pans.
  • Support chefs during service by ensuring that all necessary utensils and ingredients are readily available.
  • Help with the storage of food items, ensuring proper rotation and adherence to health and safety standards.
  • Dispose of waste appropriately and keep work areas tidy at all times.
  • Follow all health and safety regulations to maintain a safe working environment.
  • Collaborate with kitchen staff to ensure smooth operations during busy periods.
Requirements
  • Previous experience in a kitchen environment is preferred but not essential.
  • Experience in restaurants, hotels, or catering settings is advantageous.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure.
  • Excellent teamwork skills and a positive attitude towards learning from others.
