Job description

Silver Birch Lodge is looking for Kitchen Assistants to help in the effective operation of the Kitchen.The successful candidate will support our cook by performing essential tasks, including preparing breakfast service, tea trolleys, serving lunch and dinner, washing and cleaning equipment and work areas to maintain hygiene standards, and assist in the organizing and storing of food supplies. This role requires food hygiene Level 2 training, whilst desirable this can be obtained after appointment.Positions are available immediately for appropriate candidates.Work time: 8am-6.30pm. 10 hour shift.Full time and Part time, permanent positions available.-Uniform provided.-Free Tea, Coffee provided.-Free Parking onsite.-Work Place Pension Scheme-Bank Holiday Pay Rate.

Responsibilities

• To be aware of residents dietary needs and respond to their comments and requests in respect of the menu.
• Cleaning dishes, utensils, and kitchen appliances; maintaining clean and sanitized work surfaces, floors, and walls.
• To keep the Kitchen in a clean and hygienic condition on a daily basis.
• To conform at all times with in house procedures, Food Hygiene, Health and Safety, Fire and COSHH.
• To dispose of food and general waste correctly.
• To be responsible for the maintenance of Kitchen equipment. Reporting any defects to the proprietor or manager.
• To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required.

Skills and Qualifications

• Working effectively as part of kitchen team and communicating well with other staff.
• Ability to accurately following instructions and maintaining a high standard of cleanliness.
• Food Hygiene Level 2 (can be obtained once appointed)
