Job description

The post holder will work on the ward reception, assisting with the smooth and efficient running of the reception area. They will meet and greet patients, answer patient queries and liaise on their behalf on issues such as transport and interpreting services.

Where necessary the post holder will book patients in and out using the hospital administration system, Care Records Service (CRS), ensuring confidentiality of all patient information, book follow‑up appointments, and provide accurate, timely information to assist clinicians and nursing staff. The role also involves undertaking other duties including answering the telephone to both internal and external callers, sending appointments to patients, booking transport, and assisting the nurse in charge with discharge plans for patients.

Key Requirements
  • Friendly, caring and efficient with excellent communication skills.
  • Ability to prioritise workload with minimum supervision.
  • Clerical, administrative and good computer skills are essential.
  • Previous experience of working with the public in a hospital setting is desirable.
Working Hours

This post is a job share and you will be expected to work Monday and Tuesday 9am‑5pm.
