Overview

As a BANK Junior Sous Chef, you will be responsible for supporting the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen and the delivery of consistent, high quality, delicious and nutritious dishes to our residents.

Responsibilities
  • Support the Head Chef and Sous Chef in the smooth running of the kitchen and the delivery of consistent, high quality, delicious and nutritious dishes to our residents
  • Take full responsibility of the kitchen in the absence of the Head Chef and Sous Chef and maintain the high standards that have been set
  • Ensure all dishes are prepared and presented in line with KYN&closeCurlyQuote;s exceptional standards
  • Maintain high standards of cleanliness and best practices at all times
  • Drive consistency of our food offering and ensure menus are delivered to the agreed specification
  • Be organized with high attention to detail to enable the team to deliver a seamless service to our residents
  • Monitor health and safety, compliance and procedures to maintain standards in kitchen and dining teams
  • Ensure the team adheres to all kitchen service standards in every task
  • Take responsibility for invoices of deliveries
  • Support the team in understanding the menu and ingredients so they can articulate this effectively to residents, their family members, and guests
  • Ensure mise-en-place is carried out to meet forecasted demands
  • Record temperature checks on food and storage areas as directed, report any variances immediately
  • Maintain high standards of working practices in terms of personal appearance and working methods
  • Build relationships with residents and fully understand their needs
  • In the absence of the Head Chef and Sous Chef, effectively manage and oversee stock in the kitchen
  • Report all damage, hazards and wear and tear in your areas of work
  • Store food items correctly and in rotation to minimise wastage using all company labelling and dating processes
  • Complete opening/closing checklists on a daily basis
  • Maintain a clean and tidy appearance and work in an orderly manner in line with brand standards and legal requirements
  • Ensure all security and control procedures are strictly adhered to
  • Exceed expectations and consistency in every role or task undertaken
  • Commit to building relationships with residents and fully understanding their needs
  • Minimise wastage through stock rotation and portion controls
  • Store and rotate stock in accordance with policies and food safety regulations, including recording temperature checks and reporting variances
  • Demonstrate good knowledge and working practice of health and safety and food safety within a kitchen
  • Coach team members in standards and support them in maintaining the food safety management system
  • Ensure the kitchen has adequate supplies of clean utensils, crockery, and equipment
  • Respect residents­ privacy and ensure confidentiality of residents and their dietary information
  • Take an active role in coaching, training, and development of the team
  • Lead by example and act as a role model in work ethic, service quality and professional skills
  • Communicate, liaise, and build relationships with key internal and external stakeholders
