Overview

The work-load throughout the department is varied and interesting with no two days being the same. The successful candidate must be dynamic, possess excellent communication skills, and have a high sense of professionalism and a strong belief in the value of teamwork.

Responsibilities
  • Support the senior and junior team in ensuring the needs of our patients are met through the delivery of high quality care.
  • Work clinically, including unsocial hours, competently in all areas of Medical SDEC and independently take charge of them.
  • Coordinate shifts, ensuring smooth patient flow throughout the department.
  • Support junior staff and manage the team, providing delegation and mentoring.
  • Be responsible for students and link roles, driving change and improving standards.
Qualifications
  • RN (Adult)/RGN qualified.
  • At least 2 years post registration experience.
  • Commitment to progressing within the speciality as demonstrated in your professional portfolio.
  • Experience in a band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse role within Medical SDEC is desirable.
