Client Overview:
The client is a leading provider of CNC, Fabrication and assembly within aviation.
Role Overview:
The Junior Quality Engineer is to assist the quality and inspection department's activities, train to become a competent Quality Engineer, willing to learn & qualify to a Minimum of AS9100, internal Auditing and supporting customers, Nadcap and regulatory Audits, Customer, Internal and supplier NCRs.
Responsibilities:
- Assisting in all matters pertaining to the work of the Quality Department.
- Undertaking special tasks as directed by the Quality Manager & Quality Engineer.
- Assist in making provision for the training of staff.
- Support the implementation and maintenance of quality systems, ensuring compliance with internal, customer, and regulatory standards.
- Provide support for production quality, conduct investigations into non-conformances, and coordinate containment activities.
- Create and maintain non-conformance reports (NCRs), 8D reports, and other quality documentation.
- Liaising with customers over quality and technical queries.
- Support and participate in continuous improvement activities to enhance product and process quality.
- Assisting the Quality Team with quality goals and tracking progress towards them.
- Assisting with the control of sub-contractor/supplier records and ratings.
- Assisting in Collating information required for Management Review.
- Assisting the Quality Team with managing and investigating non-conformities.
- Assisting the Quality Team with managing Quality KPI's.
- Assisting the Quality Team with implementation, review and validation of PPAP.
- Administration duties for the Quality Team as required.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Previous experience with technical drawings & specifications.
- Previous experience within quality or Inspection departments.
- Good knowledge of AS9100/ISO9001.
- Understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC), Measure System Analysis (MSA), and 8D.
- Methodologies is beneficial, with training provided for newcomers.
- AS9100/ISO9001 auditing experience desirable but not essential.
- NADCAP auditing experience desirable but not essential.
- Q-Pulse knowledge is desirable but not essential.
- Experience of MS office, Excel, Word, etc.
- Proficient in reading, speaking and understanding English
