  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions.
  • Help maintain quality documentation and procedures.
  • Monitor and report quality KPIs including scrap and rework.
  • Support supplier quality activities and certification requirements.
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives.

Overview of role

An excellent opportunity for a Junior Quality Engineer to join a long-established, award-winning manufacturing business during an exciting period of growth. The role will support the maintenance, development and auditing of the Quality Management System, with a strong focus on IATF 16949 compliance, continuous improvement and audit readiness. Overview of client

Our client is a Birmingham-based precision engineering and manufacturing company. Supplying high-precision tooling and components into sectors including Automotive & Aerospace, the business has recently entered a significant growth phase driven by R&D investment and new market opportunities.

Key responsibilities
  • Support the maintenance and ongoing development of the IATF 16949 and ISO 9001 Quality Management Systems
  • Assist with internal audits and preparation for external and customer audits
  • Support root cause analysis and corrective actions (8D, NCRs)
  • Help maintain quality documentation, procedures and work instructions
  • Monitor and report quality KPIs including scrap, rework and complaints
  • Support supplier quality activities and certification requirements
  • Contribute to continuous improvement initiatives across manufacturing
What we are looking for
  • Experience working within an IATF 16949 quality environment (junior or early-career level)
  • Understanding of QMS principles and quality documentation
  • Good communication and organisational skills
  • A proactive mindset with strong problem-solving ability
  • Comfortable working independently and as part of a wider team
  • Internal auditor training or H&S awareness is desirable but not essential
