Overview

Department: Severn Trent Water

Location: Brunel House

Compensation: £30,000 - £35,000 / year

As a Junior HSEQ Advisor, you will be part of the central HSEQ Team supporting our regional Severn Trent Water contract. Reporting to the Regional HSEQ Lead and working closely with HSEQ Advisors, you will gain hands-on experience in Health, Safety, Environment and Quality management while developing your knowledge of compliance, auditing, and operational support.

This is a development role designed to provide full training, mentoring, and structured progression for someone looking to build a career in HSEQ.

Responsibilities
  • Conduct site inspections, coaching & mentoring operational teams.
  • Support HSEQ Advisors with accident and incident investigations.
  • Promote and monitor safe behaviours on site, including unsafe act/condition and positive intervention reporting.
  • Assist in compiling accident and incident statistics for reporting to management and clients.
  • Work closely with operational teams to maintain strong relationships, help improve processes & reduce risks.
  • Provide support with document control, system compliance, and wider HSEQ administration.
  • Ensure safety and compliance standards are maintained, and any issues are addressed immediately.
  • Gain exposure to corrective action tracking, ensuring that issues are followed through to closure.
  • Promote & monitor compliance with Safe Systems of Work (SSOW), RAMS and Toolbox Talks.
  • Support the HSEQ Team and the wider business with delivering the HSEQ strategy.
  • Take part in training programmes, coaching, and mentoring opportunities to develop your skills and qualifications.
Experience and Qualifications
