Junior Electrical Project Manager

Salary: £35,000 to £40,000 plus training, development, and company benefits

About the Company and Opportunity

A long-established Mechanical and Electrical Building Services contractor delivering electrical installation, testing, maintenance, and small works projects across commercial, industrial, education, healthcare, and residential environments. Typical project values range from £25k to £1m.

Due to continued growth across their electrical division, the business is looking to appoint a Junior Electrical Project Manager to support the delivery of multiple electrical projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone looking to develop into a full Electrical Project Manager role, with structured training, mentoring, and long-term career progression.

This role would suit an electrically biased individual with hands‑on experience as an Electrician, Electrical Improver, Electrical Mate, Testing Engineer, or someone who has overseen small electrical teams on site. It is also well suited to Assistant Project Managers, Project Coordinators, or individuals who are looking to move off the tools and build a long‑term career in electrical project management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Assist with the management of electrical projects from pre‑construction through to completion.
  • Support senior Electrical Project Managers with procurement, material ordering, scheduling, permits, and overall coordination.
  • Help coordinate electrical installation works including containment, distribution boards, lighting, power, fire alarm systems, and associated services.
  • Assist in reviewing electrical drawings, specifications, RAMS, and technical documentation.
  • Support cost tracking, variations, valuations, and general project reporting.
  • Attend electrical site meetings and contribute to planning, progress reviews, testing, and quality checks.
  • Maintain communication with clients, consultants, engineers, subcontractors, and internal M&E teams.
  • Provide administrative support including project documentation, progress updates, and site records.
Requirements
  • Background within electrical installation, testing, maintenance, or building services electrical work.
  • Experience in a junior project management, coordination, or supervisory role within an electrical or M&E environment is desirable, but not essential.
  • Understanding of electrical systems including LV distribution, containment, lighting, power, and safety systems.
  • Strong communication, planning, and organisational skills.
  • A proactive approach and a genuine desire to develop into an Electrical Project Manager.
