Who We Are Looking For
You are a passionate wordsmith with a flair for language and a keen eye for detail. You are not only comfortable working closely with our chief sub editor to ensure the accuracy and clarity of all copy produced on our luxury account but thrive in using your writing skills to explain complex subjects in a compelling way for a variety of clients.
Your instinct for good writing will be crucial in your role enabling you to invisibly edit text and create compelling copy that is always a pleasure to read. The role requires someone who is both curious and consistent quickly adapting to different topics and sectors while maintaining an attention to detail that is second to none.
What You’ll Do
The role is split into two key elements:
- Supporting the chief sub in all print and digital platforms for our luxury watch brand. This requires checking and correcting spelling, grammar, house style, tone and facts. You will also invisibly edit copy ensuring it is a pleasure to read while meeting all subbing and repro deadlines. Since the main magazine is published in eight languages, the sub editor is required to assist in the proofreading of language editions and check that the international teams have incorporated any necessary client amends across all copy. You will also support the editorial team with day‑to‑day admin tasks, writing and research and helping to maintain copy flow.
- Working as a content writer on multiple B2B and B2C clients, supporting the editor and senior editor you will write and edit on a variety of subjects and in multiple formats including articles, scripts, social posts and infographics. You will research different topics and bring an editorial flair to demystify them whilst balancing client requirements. You will collaborate with the creative team to ideate and concept visual assets and actively participate in brainstorming sessions.
Main Responsibilities
- Sub edit raw copy for correct grammar, spelling, house style and tone. Rewrite or invisibly edit copy to ensure it really shines.
- Digest client briefs, research a variety of topics, ideate both stories and formats.
- Write clear and concise copy breaking down complex subjects for knowledgeable audiences.
- Cut and style copy to fit in layout and write heads, sells, captions and pull quotes.
- Fact‑check and correct copy for accuracy. Be a point of reference for style and tone of voice.
- Ideate visual assets to support copy.
- Take in client feedback and amend proofreaders’ and editors’ final amendments.
- Proofread the 3x Asian language editions of the luxury brand magazine (pre‑repro proofs, repro proofs and plotter proofs) and provide support in checking other language versions as required.
- Assist with translations, send copy out and be a point of contact for the international team.
Other Tasks
- General admin, process editorial invoices, take meeting minutes, post layouts to proofreaders.
- Support editors and chief sub with day‑to‑day workload.
- Research and stress test content ideas.
- Participate in brainstorms for new projects and pitches.
- Build your knowledge of content strategy.
What You’ll Bring
- 2 years experience as a print sub editor with some digital experience as a bonus.
- Experience in journalism and / or creating editorial content (B2B experience especially appreciated).
- Excellent researching, editing and writing abilities.
- Strong organisational skills.
- A critical eye for detail.
- Experience using InDesign.
- Ability to work in a fast‑paced environment, completing multiple tasks under pressure.
- An understanding of media law.

- Salary: Up to 32k (depending on experience).
- Hybrid working: 3–4 days in the office.
- Full time position – 5 days a week.
