Qualifications

  • A minimum of 1-2 years corporate experience in an e-commerce travel industry environment.
  • Experience or exposure to AI is essential.
  • Experience in writing modern JavaScript applications (frontend or backend) and a desire to learn more.
  • Basic understanding of DevOps practices (e.g., AWS, Docker/Kubernetes).
  • Some experience in testing (unit or integration or E2E).

Responsibilities

  • Work as part of an agile team contributing to planning and development.
  • Collaborate with engineers and Product Owners to define solutions.
  • Review code and support team members.
  • Work on client-facing applications in React/Next.js.
  • Design and build Node.js/GraphQL APIs.

An exciting opportunity awaits you as Junior Developer in our Technology & Process Optimisation team. As a Junior Developer you’ll be working with product owners, business analysts, scrum masters, and engineers to implement features across our estate of cloud native software products and services. We’re working in modern JavaScript/TypeScript, hosted on AWS with Kubernetes, with a fully automated continuous integration pipeline.

This permanent position is based in our London office with hybrid working.

We’re looking for someone to:
  • Work as an integral part of an agile team contributing towards the planning and development of the systems the team uses
  • Collaborate with engineers, Product Owners and Business Analysts to define solutions, ways of working and share knowledge across the department
  • Review code and providing support to other members of the team
  • Work on client‑facing applications in React/Next.js
  • Design and build Node.js/GraphQL APIs
  • Maintain and improve the quality of the software we deliver, the codebases we work on and the tooling we use
  • Help to identify and resolve reported issues
  • Keep our customers' data safe
You'll need:
  • A Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field. Advanced degree (MBA, MSc, PhD) is a plus.
  • Experience or exposure to AI is essential (a Bachelors or Master’s in Computer Science with AI specialism is highly desirable)
  • A minimum of 1‑2 years corporate experience in an e‑commerce travel industry environment is essential
  • Experience in writing modern JavaScript applications (frontend or backend, e.g. ECMAScript, TypeScript, Node.js, React, Vue, Angular, Next.js, etc) and a desire to learn more
  • Basic understanding of DevOps/modern infrastructure practices (e.g. AWS, Docker/Kubernetes, CI, etc) and a desire to learn more
  • Some experience in (automated) testing (unit or integration or E2E, etc) and a desire to learn more
  • Experience working in autonomous agile environments
  • Awareness of security best practices in software development
