A tech company in the UK is looking for a Junior Automation Tester to join a supportive team. This mostly remote role involves testing web applications with a focus on automation, using tools like Playwright and TypeScript. Ideal candidates should have 1-2 years of manual testing experience and a genuine enthusiasm for learning. The company promotes a healthy work-life balance, offers dedicated training time, and has a culture of collaboration and growth. The salary is up to £33,000 plus a bonus.
I have a brand new opportunity for a Junior Automation Tester to join a genuinely lovely tech team, where learning, support and growth are truly valued. This is a mostly remote role, with just one day a month in their Wiltshire office, so you will need to be happy to travel to the office when required.
You’ll be joining an established test team of five and working closely with experienced automation testers who are there to mentor, guide and support you. Automation is not an afterthought here, it will become the main focus of the role, and you’ll be actively upskilled in modern tools including Playwright and TypeScript. You’ll be testing customer facing web applications, while learning modern testing practices through hands on experience, feedback and collaboration.
This role is ideal for a software tester with around one to two years (or more of course), of manual testing experience who understands core testing principles and is eager to take their first proper step into automation. Any existing automation experience is a bonus, but curiosity, enthusiasm and a desire to learn are far more important.
The company has a genuine people first culture and really looks after their staff. There are regular team events and hackathons, all paid for, and a strong emphasis on switching off and maintaining a healthy work life balance. You also get dedicated time to focus purely on training.
They are also at the start of an exciting AI journey, exploring how AI can be used from a testing perspective. Over the next six months this will include access to tools and licenses, learning opportunities and hackathons focused on experimentation and shared learning amongst the team.
The role is offering a salary of up to £33,000, along with a bonus. If you’re a tester who knows the fundamentals, enjoys quality focused work and wants to grow into automation in the right environment, this is a brilliant next step.
