THE BUSINESS

Westray Recruitment Group is seeking to recruit a Joinery Workshop Manager to work for our client based in Teesside.

Our client specialises in joinery within commercial sectors, mainly supplying office fit outs and improvements. This encapsulates products such as reception area, desks, display features, screens, seating areas, etc. They currently employ around 70 staff and have a turnover of £16m. They supply the top end of the market providing luxurious, modern office fittings that are stylish and ergonomically friendly.

THE ROLE

To be responsible for all day-to-day activities at the workshop reporting directly to the Production Director

Manage & direct the workshop team, managing & maintaining the key objectives, in line with target hours etc

Programming and sequencing of all joinery items through the workshop and reporting progress

Implementation of any manufacturing improvement methodologies and techniques

Working to ensure production meets demand requirements

Overseeing quality systems to ensure specifications & product expectations are met in a cost-effective manner

Ensure all operations in workshop are in accordance with all HSE

Promote a culture of continuous improvement & drive through improvements

Keep an environment of employee engagement, keeping a motivated work culture etc

THE PERSON

Joinery skills and experience of bespoke joinery using materials such as MDF, Laminates, Hardwoods, Solid surfaces, etc

Experience of managing a joinery workshop

Experienced delivering bespoke joinery solutions

Experienced delivering continuous improvement initiatives

A proactive & results focused approach delivered through effective KPIs

Excellent communicator and be able to read workshop drawings for Rec desks, Teapoints, seating etc etc
