Job summary

Job description

Active woman with learning difficulties living in her own home in Gifford, East Lothian, is looking for permanent and relief female Personal Assistants to join a small existing team.

The following hours need to be filled:

Permanent staff

• Friday, 16:00 to 09:30 Saturday. Must be able to drive.
• Alternate weekends: Saturday 09:30 to 17:00; Sunday 09:30 to 17:00.
• Shifts may be split between one or two workers. Applications for 15 hours or less per week are welcome.

Relief staff

• Hours available on an ad hoc basis as and when required to cover staff illness and holidays.

Duties

• Support her in daily life, ensuring safety and wellbeing.
• Assist with personal hobbies and activities: arts & crafts, cycling, walking, badminton, golf, swimming, gardening.
• Assist with cooking, laundry, personal care, general housekeeping.

Requirements

• Experience in the care sector is advantageous.
• Full clean driving licence valid in the UK (automatic car). Own vehicle preferable due to poor public transport.
• Member of the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme or willing to join.

Pay & Hours

Rate of pay: £13.00 per hour from 06:00 to 21:30. Night pay: £12.00 per hour from 21:30 to 06:00. Occasional overtime may be required.
