To undertake janitorial and minor repairs and maintenance tasks.

Requirements
  • To ensure the provision of an effective and efficient service within the overall priorities of establishments.
  • To undertake operational duties within base establishment.
  • To undertake technical duties within base establishments.
  • Complying with the Health and Safety requirements and provisions and ensuring that safe working practices are adopted and that all equipment is operated safely.

  • Experience of care and maintenance of property
  • Previous experience of working with people
  • A competent standard of literacy and numeracy
  • Aptitude for tidiness
  • Attention to detail
  • Ability to prioritise tasks/action
  • Ability to follow routines
  • Capable of working unsupervised or as part of a team
  • Flexible approach to work
  • Self-confident and self-motivated
  • Ability to record information accurately
  • You will be expected to travel efficiently and effectively between various locations with Moray to meet the operational requirements of the service. Due to the rural nature of Moray this is normally undertaken by use of a car/van
  • Able to carry out handyman/basic maintenance duties
  • Ability to work periodically in unpleasant conditions inside and outside
  • Active listening and verbal communication skills for effective interaction with members of the public and staff
  • Ability to move furniture & equipment in conjunction with moving and handling regulations
  • Able to work both indoors and outdoors as required
  • Ability to operate equipment and machinery as detailed in the job description
  • Must be flexible to meet the needs and demands of the service including the ability to work outwith normal hours
  • This post is considered to be a ‘Regulated Role’ under the Disclosure (Scotland) Act 2020. Under the Act it is a legal requirement for an individual undertaking a regulated role with children or protected adults to be a member of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme.
  • Therefore the successful candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme Update check prior to any formal offer of employment being made by Moray Council.
