Job description
Overview

The post holder will work as part of a dynamic IT Operations Team, supporting maintenance and developments to levels of service. The role focuses on frontline technical support within the End User Computing environment, delivering first line activities and resolving tickets and service requests efficiently. They will be part of the wider Digital Service team, working with other departments on tickets and service requests to provide excellent service to internal and external stakeholders.

Responsibilities
  • Identify any service issues that may arise (e.g. regarding security, resilience or performance) and resolve if possible, or report to management to ensure systems are monitored and appropriate action is taken to maintain and optimise them.
  • Setup, configure and install equipment and software to support projects and initiatives within the Trust. Assist with planning software/hardware rollouts as required, with agreement from specific project teams. Work with other team members to enable delivery of new systems and software during live operation.
  • Provide first line technical support and guide on hardware and software used across the Trust, including PC and peripheral hardware, software configuration, networking or application-specific issues. Escalate unresolved service requests to other sections of Digital Services as appropriate.
  • Participate in troubleshooting responses for all tickets reported to the first line team, follow priorities, raise concerns when necessary, and continue to resolve in a timely manner.
  • Assist with creation and appropriate reviewing of standard operating procedures for the section, flagging to a senior member when SOPs require review as they may be out of date or incorrect.
