Job Description

IT Systems & Digital Transformation Lead

Salary : Up to £45,000 dependent on experience

Hours : Full time on site in Malton

Drive digital transformation and lead business critical IT projects in a fast growing engineering and manufacturing environment.

Our client is a forward thinking manufacturer undergoing significant investment and improvement across systems infrastructure and cyber security. They now need an experienced IT professional who has already led similar initiatives and can take ownership of modernising and streamlining their internal systems.

This is a hands on role for someone proactive, confident and able to influence at all levels. You’ll work closely with the Managing Director partnering with external IT providers and software vendors while leading business wide improvements that drive efficiency, automation and stronger cyber resilience.

The Role

A varied and impactful position where you’ll lead IT operations, systems optimisation and digital transformation projects.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Leading Cyber Essentials Plus readiness implementation and ongoing compliance
  • Developing and embedding IT security policies, procedures and best practice
  • Managing hardware projects and infrastructure improvements across the site
  • Streamlining internal systems, identifying integration opportunities and driving automation
  • Overseeing ERP, CRM, CAD, BMS and telephony systems ensuring they are aligned, efficient and secure
  • Liaising with software vendors to assess capability, integrations and optimisation opportunities
  • Conducting IT audits, identifying gaps and presenting clear solutions to senior stakeholders
  • Managing data backup, disaster recovery and business continuity plans
  • Leading and delivering IT projects on time and within budget
  • Providing clear communication to all levels of the business, translating technical issues into practical actions
  • Supporting and mentoring a junior IT team member
  • Evaluating new technologies that support growth, efficiency and long term digital strategy
About You

You will be an experienced IT professional who has already driven similar improvements within a manufacturing, engineering or fast paced SME environment.

You’ll bring
  • Proven experience leading IT infrastructure or systems transformation initiatives
  • Strong understanding of cyber security, ideally with Cyber Essentials Plus exposure
  • Experience managing hardware, software and third party vendors
  • Ability to streamline systems, automate processes and identify smarter ways of working
  • Confident communication skills with the ability to influence, explain solutions and engage stakeholders at all levels
  • Experience delivering IT projects end to end
  • A proactive, driven approach with strong problem solving capability
  • Ability to mentor and support others in developing IT capability
