Job description

We are looking for a IT Support Engineer to join our fast-scaling AI organisation just outside Guildford. This is an exciting opportunity for someone who thrives on solving technical challenges and wants to grow into an Infrastructure Engineer role working on cutting-edge technologies. It's a fantastic time to join us as we expand globally, offering real scope for career progression and exposure to advanced systems.

In this role, you will act as a technical escalation point, diagnosing, investigating, and resolving 2nd line tickets while providing remote hardware and software support across our international locations. You'll engage in troubleshooting activities, document solutions for wider teams, and work collaboratively with more experienced engineers to gain deeper insights into complex issues.

We are looking for someone with at least three years' experience on a support desk who is confident working across both Windows and Linux (Ubuntu) environments. You should be comfortable managing virtualisation platforms such as Proxmox or VMware and have a solid understanding of networking, including IP routing, switching and VPNs, ideally with exposure to vendors like Ubiquiti Unifi, Meraki, Peplink, Tailscale or Teltonika. You'll also be proficient in Microsoft Office tools, with excellent organisational and communication skills, and the ability to prioritise tasks independently.

It would be a bonus if you bring additional skills such as Scripting experience, knowledge of source code management tools like GitHub or Azure DevOps, Microsoft Intune MDM experience, or relevant certifications such as CompTIA. Prior exposure to on-call rotas or niche expertise such as maritime radar systems would also be welcomed.

In return, they offer a competitive salary of £30k-£35k depending on experience, plus twice-yearly cash bonuses, BUPA healthcare, a healthcare cash plan, uncapped pension contributions, death in service cover and equity participation through their stock option scheme.

More importantly, you'll be joining a high-growth organisation where your skills will be challenged, developed, and rewarded as you evolve into an infrastructure engineer working on some of the most innovative technologies in the market today.
