Job summary

Apogee Corporation is seeking an IT Field Technician to join our Managed Desktop Services team in the UK. You will diagnose, repair, and maintain laptops, desktops, and RPOS hardware, splitting time between on-site visits and remote support to keep customer systems running smoothly.

This hands-on role requires strong hardware/software knowledge, Windows expertise, and a clean driving licence. DBS and SC clearance are required, and a customer-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in laptop or PC hardware repair.
• Strong understanding of hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows experience essential, macOS or Linux beneficial).
• Experience using diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques.
• Confident troubleshooting skills across hardware and basic networking issues.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.
• Full, clean driving licence.

Responsibilities

• Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults across laptops, desktops, and peripheral devices.
• Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems including Windows and other common platforms.
• Supporting users onsite and remotely, providing clear and practical guidance.
• Carrying out repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades.
• Troubleshooting printers, connectivity issues, and RPOS hardware.
• Completing accurate job records, service notes, and repair documentation.
• Following data protection, backup, and security procedures.
• Escalating more complex issues when required.
• Maintaining high standards of customer service and communication.
• Keeping up to date with hardware tools, technologies, and repair methods.
