Job summary

Apogee Corporation is seeking an IT Field Technician to join the Managed Desktop Services team. You will diagnose, repair and maintain laptops, desktops and related hardware, splitting time between onsite visits and remote support to ensure systems stay up and running.

You will be part of a service-led environment where quality, communication and first-time fix matter. A DBS check is required for the role, and a typical pattern is Mon–Fri, 08:30–17:30.

Qualifications

• Proven experience in laptop/PC hardware repair or IT support.
• Strong understanding of hardware, software and Windows (essential).
• Experience using diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques.
• Confident troubleshooting across hardware and basic networking.
• Strong communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and manage your own workload.

Responsibilities

• Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults across laptops, desktops, and peripherals.
• Install, configure, and maintain operating systems including Windows.
• Support users onsite and remotely with clear guidance.
• Carry out repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades.
• Troubleshoot printers, connectivity, and RPOS hardware.
• Complete accurate job records and repair documentation.
• Follow data protection, backup, and security procedures.
• Escalate complex issues when required.
• Maintain high standards of customer service and communication.
• Keep up to date with hardware tools and repair methods.
