Job summary

Apogee is seeking an IT Field Technician to support customers in Sheffield, Wakefield and Huddersfield with diagnosing, repairing and maintaining laptops, desktops and RPOS hardware. The role blends onsite visits with remote support, emphasising first‑time fixes and excellent service.

You will handle hardware and software faults, OS installation and upgrades, and provide clear guidance to users. DBS/SC clearance may apply where required, and ongoing training is encouraged in a dynamic,

Qualifications

Proven experience in laptop/PC hardware repair.
Strong understanding of hardware, software and operating systems (Windows essential).
Experience using diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques.

Responsibilities

Diagnose and resolve hardware and software faults on laptops, desktops and peripherals.
Install, configure and maintain operating systems including Windows.
Support users onsite and remotely with clear, practical guidance.
Carry out repairs, component replacements and system upgrades.
Troubleshoot printers, connectivity issues and RPOS hardware.
Maintain accurate job records and repair documentation.
Follow data protection, backup and security procedures.
Escalate complex issues when required.
Maintain high standards of customer service and communication.
Stay current with hardware tools, technologies and repair methods.
