Job summary

Apogee Corporation is seeking an IT Field Technician to join the Managed Desktop Services team in the Nottingham/Derby area. The role involves diagnosing, repairing and maintaining laptops, desktops, RPOS systems and related hardware, with a mix of onsite visits and remote support to ensure quick resolution and minimal downtime for customers.

You will work in a service-led environment where quality, communication and first-time fixes matter.

Qualifications

Proven experience in laptop or PC hardware repair or IT support.
Strong understanding of hardware, software, and operating systems (Windows experience essential, macOS or Linux beneficial).
Experience using diagnostic tools and fault-finding techniques.

Responsibilities

Diagnosing and resolving hardware and software faults across laptops, desktops, and peripheral devices.
Installing, configuring, and maintaining operating systems including Windows and other common platforms.
Supporting users onsite and remotely, providing clear and practical guidance.
Carrying out repairs, component replacements, and system upgrades.
Troubleshooting printers, connectivity issues, and RPOS hardware.
Completing accurate job records, service notes, and repair documentation.
Following data protection, backup, and security procedures.
Escalating more complex issues when required.
Maintaining high standards of customer service and communication.
Keeping up to date with hardware tools, technologies, and repair methods.
